We are currently expanding our vocational training in East Africa, through construction of a Vocational Apprenticeship Center near Namuzikiza, Mukono, Uganda. This Center will provide hands-on training in skills, such as; welding, woodworking, construction, masonry, plumbing, electrical engineering, tailoring, baking, aquaponics and agriculture. We will expand from there. We focus on skills that make sense to the in-demand industry needs of Uganda. This facility is a place, where young people and single mothers have an opportunity to achieve excellence in practical skills, through hands-on Apprenticeship Programs. We provide training in skills, as well as small business and accounting management education- to provide opportunities for longterm achievement and new roads towards sustainable futures.

Community Projects

We believe that community is the most important part of developing individuals. And we believe that individuals are the most important part of developing strong community. We lead construction and sustainability projects, that directly impact communities. We utilize these projects to develop practical job skills for young men and women that are participating in our vocational programs. These projects are diverse and are structured to meet direct community needs, such as; Aquaponic agriculture, irrigation and composting, horticulture, housing improvements, school or community latrine/toilet, boreholes and more.

There are a plethora of needs for sponsorship. Sponsoring a young person or child provides new opportunities for growth, through education. Many families are simply unable to meet the financial obligations of school fees, in Uganda and greater East Africa. You can make a fantastic impact on a child and their family, by gifting them the ability to attend school. Here are a few ways to be a part of sponsoring hope:

  • Sponsor a child in Uganda, whose family cannot meet the standard cost of school fees.
  • Sponsor a young person to attend one of our Vocational Apprenticeship Programs. Programs are 1 year, 2 year and 1-2 weeks Specialized workshops training events.
  • Sponsor a single mother to find new options. Training sponsorship can also include housing available for her and her children, while attending one of our programs. This opportunity creates hope, by providing practical and new ways to support their families.

Staff Support

All funding for Develop Sustainability Staff is acquired and distributed, separately of any project funds. Each staff person is responsible for procuring and providing their own funding to cover living expenses in Uganda and any other salary needs. Please donate towards our staff and keep the movement of our vision for a more sustainable Africa moving.
